This client had numerous trips to the Hunter Vally and The Vintage Golf resort so much so that they decided they would like to build their forever home and retire to this beautiful part of the world. Their design brief included taking advantage of the golf course view, the house following the lay of the land and taking advantage of the north and eastern sun.

Key features

• Open spacious living, dining, kitchen overlooking the golf course.
• A sunken lounge with 3.6-metre-high ceilings.
• Courtyard to assist in capturing the sun.
• A wide variety of window treatments including the clever use of fixed glass to frame different views, louvres for great air flow and stacker doors across the rear of the home bringing the outdoors in and thereby doubling their entertaining space.
• Recycled Spotted Gum feature beams and columns (repurposed from an old bridge in Qld) with Spotted Gum cladding to the gable.
• Large format terrazzo tiles.
• A Byron Blackbutt dining table, dropping down from the island bench cabinetry.
